Ma and Pa’s Kitchen

This is (definately) the Third Kitchen going-in, that I can remember from the old family Home. All I can remember of the (my) 1st recollection is a tall yellow stand alone unit, much like a Bureau style, but taller! The 2nd was a fully-fitted made-to-measure kitchen by Moben, I’m sure it was quite expensive at the time too, around the £5k mark but, I may be wrong? Definately a well-built kitchen though, especially with having to put up with all of us opening, closing, shutting, slamming, cutting, chopping (maybe even hammering) things for donkeys years.

Now – here we are, it’s 2009 (I think?) this was a proper strip, back to the bare-bones job, with Damp Course Treatment, Re-Wiring, Lighting, Re-Plumbing, Insulating, Plaster Boarding, Skimming & finally fitting the new kitchen units. This really is a complete whole brand new fitted kitchen!

Ma & Pa decided to move a couple of years later, having decided to spend their money having a modern (insulated & warm) house built, basically starting from scratch on a (dis-used) corner of Andrew & Anns front garden, with no Planning Permission or Utilities in-place. Hopefully this Kitchen is still going strong, but – you know what (some) people are like, they want a new one every few years!
